Over the past few years, Filip Zaborowski has burst onto the international swim scene with outstanding performances across the middle-distance freestyle events. The Polish-born, 400-meter freestyler has cemented his name in the Polish swimming record books, taking national championship titles in the 400-meter freestyle four years running, a feat never before seen.

Zaborowski started his swimming career in Sopot, Poland, before moving to join MKP Szczecin swim team, where his swimming career quickly took off. To date, he has represented Poland at the World and European Championships, but Zaborowski has his sights set firmly on one thing this year: representing his country at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Middle-distance freestyle swimming has a rich history in Poland, with greats like Przemyslaw Stanczyk and Pawel Korzeniowski still etched in the record books, but with Zaborowski’s current ascent up the world rankings ladder, there is no doubt he will continue to set records tumbling.
Zaborowski will be looking to secure his place in the Olympic Games when the Polish Olympic swimming trials get underway in Szczecin, Poland, May 27 to 30.
