JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FGCU swimming and diving defeated North Florida today, winning nine of 11 events and being first or second 15 of 22 times.
Jasmin Kroll competed in three events on the day winning all of them. She touched first in the 50 free (23.92), 500 free (5:07.63), and was the lead leg for the 200 free relay (1:37.95).
Eagles swimmers were winning continuously in the pool. Lily Magda won the 1000 free (10:42.59), Emma Bjoernholdt won the 200 free (1:57.36), Cam Kuriger took the 200 fly (2:10.69), Alexis Mishler placed first in the 100 free (53.89), Karen Arngeirsdottir touched first in the 200 breast (2:27.90), and both relays (200 free and 200 medley) topped the leader boards.
Next up for swimming and diving is a meet against Georgia Southern on Saturday at 11 a.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida women’s swimming secured two first-place finishes in the 200-yard IM and the 200-yard backstroke, but was not able to take down familiar Atlantic Sun foe Florida Gulf Coast in its Senior Day meet, Friday afternoon.
Prior to the start of the meet, seniors Bria Boreham, Ashley Kephart, Madison Reynolds and Madelyn York were all recognized for their contributions in and out of the pool. This was the Ospreys first home meet since hosting Georgia Southern back in October.

CLIPBOARD NOTES
- Kayla Daley claimed first in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 2:09.57
- Aydan Horrigan collected a victory in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 2:07.13
- Ashley Cozad finished second in the 200-yard freestyle race with a time of 1:57.43.
- Victoria Torres also took second place in her respective race, the 50-yard freestyle, with a time of 24.74.
- In the 200-yard butterfly Allie Larrimore secured second place touching the wall in 2:12.00.
- Rounding out today’s performance Ashley Kephart and Amelia Hildebrand finished second and third in the 100-yard freestyle respectively, with times of 54.06 and 54.39.
- This was the first of two meets against FGCU this competition season

“It was a good Senior Day. The weather cooperated with us against a very good Florida Gulf Coast team. I was very happy with our swimmers, including Aydan Horrigan in the 200 backstroke, who put up a very good time after a smart race. Kayla Daley, Amanda Loomis, Ashley Cozad and Allie Larrimore all had impressive swims as well. This was our first meet in a series of four coming up. We have a meet here next Friday at noon and we’re looking forward to improving every week. After a really tough training trip, we are getting closer to our goal of being at our best for the ASUN Championships in February.” —- Head Coach Ian Coffey
