Eugene Godsoe and “Take Your Marks” Are Back With New Music Video

After a long hiatus, and some nervous fans, former NCAA Champion Eugene Godsoe and fellow swimmer Greg Pearsall have taken their “Take Your Marks” band of swimmers to Charlotte with their latest cover of “Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show.

Godsoe is on the keyboard, Pearsall is on lead guitar and vocals. On this track, teammates Nelson Westby and super-sprinter Josh Schneider fill in the harmony on the chorus. And of course Westby is in the video, giving the shot some sex-appeal (and playing the acoustic Weber Grill).

These guys are legit musicians – this version might be even better than the original. Listen, like it, share it.

Who’s up for an Omaha jam session? Maclin Davis also has a pretty good band of his own. Katie Hoff can drop a mean flow. Who else has musical skills?

There’s nothing like some quality Canadian reggae… I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but between Snow, Bieber and Nickelback we export some pretty painful pop /culturecringe

I am from the UK and listening to this beautiful song has made me want to go back to North Carolina again. I last visited this beautiful State as a student in 1986 and along with my future husband we spent an awesome Summer at Camp Greysyone Christian Camp for Girls in Tuxedo near Greenville. It was my 3rd summer at the special camp set in the heart of The Blue Ridge Mountains. The Memories from Camp have remained with us throughout our married life. Many of the songs stayed in our hearts One Camp Song “Save Your Memories” I adapted to make it relevant to school memories. We have kept in contact with a fellow Sports counsellor David Vining… Read more »

This is one of my all time fave songs, and these guys rocked it! Great keyboards and awesome voice. Is there anything Godsoe can’t do?
