Williams’ women proved too dominant a force for Union College at their meet on Saturday. The Ephs won handily, 206-86, taking their winning streak to two. Williams won every event, and were at least 1-2 in everything but the 100 butterfly.
The Ephs started the meet off right with a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of Angela Sun, Breanna Nguyen, Alyssa Levine and Lauren Jones took the gold with 1:50.40. The distance crew jumped in on the fun then, as Katherine Bennett and Olivia Clark went 1-2 in the 1000 freestyle, with respective times of 10:48.15 and 10:59.32.
To continue its domination, the Williams women took the top four spots in the 200 freestyle, led by Jones who took the victory by over five seconds, touching in at 1:55.37. The 100 backstroke went to Olivia Jackson (1:01.14) followed by teammate Nguyen (1:01.36). Molly Prindle and Sofie Pierantonio showcased their talents in the 100 breaststroke, going 1-2, 1:09.36 to 1:11.16, respectively.
The 200 butterfly was another all Williams show. Freshman Megan Pierce led the way for a 1-2-3 finish, stopping the clock at 2:06.72. She was followed by teammates Paige Haller (2:12.43) and Levine (2:15.41).
The women’s 50 freestyle went the way of Sarah Thompson. She and Maddy Holker went 1-2, however Thompson beat out her teammate by over a second, 24.64-25.86.
On the boards, Williams’ Michelle Higgins led the way for the Ephs with a 280.50 on one-meter. Right behind her with a 279.23 was McKenzie Murdoch and following her, Ari Ross with a point total of 250.50.
Jackson was at it again in the 100 freestyle. She led Williams to a 1-2-3, taking the crown in 55.66. Also ready to roll, Pierce returned to the water to add the 200 backstroke to her victory list (2:10.67), leading three other teammates for a 1-2-3-4 finish. Not to be outdone, Nguyen also claimed an individual victory in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.38), three seconds ahead of Thompson (2:33.60).
The women’s 500 went to freshman Jones by over six seconds. She touched at 5:15.62 for the win. Then in the 100 fly, the Ephs put up a young field. Pietrantonio took the victory, decisively outtouching a Union College swimmer for the win at 1:00.10.
Women’s three-meter diving went the way of Murdoch, who tallied 301.58.
Pierce led a first through fourth charge on the 400 IM, taking gold in 4:29.14. Then to cap it off, the Ephs divided into relay squads and went 1-2-3 on the final 200 freestyle relay. The winning squad featured Nguyen, Taylor Patterson, Jones and Faye Sultan. They finished in 1:39.74, thanks to a monster 23.93 split from Sultan at the very end.
