January 24, 2025 – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has released the December edition of the Division III Top 25 dual meet poll. The Denison men and Kenyon women have taken over the top spots of the Division III January polls.
The committee, consisting of Division III coaches, assesses and ranks the nation’s top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It’s important to note that the poll’s objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.
Denison (417) and NYU (403) swapped places at the top of the January poll, while Emory (394) retained its position within the top three. Chicago (373) maintained its fourth-place ranking, and MIT (352) returned to the top five. Williams (295) climbed six spots to secure eighth place, breaking into the top 10. Amherst (170), Connecticut College (81), and Bates (42) entered the top 25 from outside last month’s rankings, landing at 17th, 20th, and 24th, respectively. A total of 30 teams received votes in this month’s poll.
On the women’s side, Kenyon (368) narrowly edged out Emory (366) to claim the top spot, with the two schools ranking first and second, respectively. MIT (345) returned to the top three, while Denison (331) and NYU (315) rounded out the top five. In a poll with minimal movement, Swarthmore made the most significant jump, rising from 13th to enter the top 10. Salisbury (24) and Middlebury (25) broke into the top 25 after being unranked in last month’s poll. A total of 27 teams received votes to start the 2025 rankings.
*Dual meet records are sourced from each institution’s website.
