Alex Dragan, from Fort Collins, Colorado and Shane Triplett from Roseville, California have both made verbal commitments to swim for California State University- Bakersfield in the fall.
Shane Triplett

Triplett is a transfer from Sierra College in Rocklin, California, where he has been a member of the President’s Honor Roll. He helped Sierra win its first-ever CCCAA State Championship last May, dethroning Golden West College who had held the title for three years in a row. Prior to Sierra College, Triplett swam for Granite Bay High School. In his spare time he coaches 8-and-unders at Granite Bay Gators, and referees for youth soccer games.
Triplett swims year-round with Sierra Marlins Swim Club. His best SCY times are:
- 50 free – 21.57
- 100 free – 47.16
- 200 free – 1:43.73

“I chose CSUB because I love the team oriented atmosphere at CSUB. They really seem to be a close knit, well functioning team, that is always striving to improve. The coaching staff is very knowledgeable and committed to the improvement of every single swimmer. I was recruited to swim Sprint Free, IM, and Breaststroke.” [sic]
Dragan is a senior at Fort Collins High School in Colorado. He placed 7th in the 100 free and 26th in the 100 breast at the 2016 CHSAA 5A State Championships in May. He also swims year-round for Fort Collins Area Swim Team. At the Western Senior Zones Championships this past summer he finalized in the 50/100/200m free, 100m back, 100/200m breast, and 200m IM.
