CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State head swimming and diving coach Paul Graham announced the 2015-16 schedule on Monday.
The Vikings will begin with their annual “Splash Bash” on Sept. 26 at 9:00 a.m.
The regular season begins Oct. 16 with both the men’s and women’s teams heading to Cincinnati to compete against Cincinnati and Xavier, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
CSU will make its first appearance at home in the newly decorated Busbey Natatorium on Oct. 24 vs. Gannon at 1:00 p.m., but not before the women will have a meet the night before on Oct. 23 at Youngstown State at 5:00 p.m.
The month of November will keep the Vikings in Ohio, only traveling out of Cleveland one time as they will head to Columbus to take on Ohio State at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 12. CSU will host Marshall and St. Bonaventure on Nov. 7 at 1:00 p.m., with the women’s team hosting Marshall the night before on Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at home.
The Vikings will have a week off after heading to Columbus to prepare for the fourth annual CSU Magnus Cup at Busbey Natatorium, a three-day event (Nov. 20-22) in which the men’s team will look to defend its first place finish in 2014.
CSU will travel down I-77 to take part in the Akron Zippy Invitational from Dec. 4-6 before traveling to Canisius for a meet at 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 18.
The Vikings will have over a two-week leave before traveling to their annual Holiday Invitational trip on Jan. 9. The Vikings will finish January with three straight meets against league opponents, hosting UIC (Jan. 15) at 5:30 p.m. and Wright State (Jan. 16) at 1:00 p.m., before traveling to Oakland on Jan. 30 at 1:00 p.m.
The regular season schedule will finish with the Vikings traveling to Buffalo for a meet on Feb. 6 at 1:00 p.m. and finally the Ohio State Winter Invite in Columbus on Feb. 13-14 at 11:00 a.m.
The 2016 Horizon League Championships will take place at Oakland from Feb. 24-27.
