Camille Lacourt Wins 50 Meter Backstroke – Complete Race Footage

French swimmer Camille Lacourt tallied up his first medal in the 2013 FINA World Championships with a victory in the Men’s 50 meter backstroke. Lacourt was the slowest man off the start but powered back with early speed to win in 24.42. France went 1-2 with Lacourt’s countryman Jérémy Stravius tying for the silver medal with American 100 backstroke World and Olympic Champion Matt Grevers in 24.54.

Hometown favourite an one time 100m backstroke world record holder, Spaniard Aschwin Wildeboer Faber, finished just 0.04 outside of the medals in fourth place at 24.58.

Camille Lacourt, Matt Grevers’ b… ah, never mind.

We all know best back strokers are made here in the USA. And here is why :).

I just posted backstroke practice I do this month with our 11 year old twins. The boy was one of the fastest 10 & U in the USA.
