Florida sophomore Caeleb Dressel has swum an 18.32 relay leadoff on Thursday at the 2016 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, which marks a new NCAA Championship and Georgia Tech Pool Record in the event. The time is also the second-fastest 50 yard freestyle in swimming history at any level, behind only the 18.23 done at the SEC Championships in February.
Dressel’s split combined with Corey Main, Mark Szaranek, and Jack Blyzinskyj to qualify 3rd through to the A-Final at the meet.
Dressel now holds the three-fastest times in history. The top 11 (with ties):

I will admit I was expecting him to be a bit slower here. I was thinking he’d go 18.5 and still win pretty easily but not repeat SECs. But to go 18.3 and 18.2 again — in the same session, no less — that just blows my mind! Could we see 18.1 or 18.0 tonight? He’s now gone the fastest 4 time in history (by quite a bit) in the last month. There’s are guys going 18s who are just getting destroyed by him. He’s on another level, and we’re lucky to see it!
He has to be on that Usa team this summer – for the relay at least . Go for it Caeleb
