Butterflier Christian Strycker Verbally Commits to Alabama

Christian Strycker (whose USA Swimming name is Michael Strycker), from North Chesterfield, Virginia, has made a verbal commitment to the University of Alabama for 2017-18.

“I chose Alabama because of the world class coaching staff and facilities.  The coaching staff and team made me feel immediately at home on my visit.  I can’t wait to spend my next four years swimming for Alabama. Roll Tide!”

Strycker is a fly/free/IM specialist who swims for Quest Swimming in Midlothian, Virginia. He waged a very successful 2015-16 campaign, beginning with 2015 Winter Juniors East, where he finaled in the 500 free (23rd) and 200 fly (16th), and went best times in both. He then improved on his 200 fly and added new PBs in the 100 fly and 200 free at the Virginia Short Course Senior Championships in March. He closed out the season with a strong showing at the College Park Futures meet, going best times in the 100/200 fly.

Strycker is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 500 free, 100/200 fly and 200 IM, and a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 200 fly. His best times are:
