FGCU Picks Up First Verbal for C/O 2021 with MO’s Izzi Clark

Rockwood Swim Club’s Izzi Clark is new FGCU coach Dave Rollins’ very first commit to the Eagles.

“I chose FGCU because I immediately felt “at home” and embraced by the girls on the team and the coaches.  The campus and swim facilities are absolutely amazing! I believe that Coach Rollins will continue to grow the success of the program and lead me to my best potential as a swimmer and student/athlete. #WingsUp”

TOP TIMES

*SCY unless otherwise noted*

  • 50 back – 27.10
  • 100 back – 56.62 (1:04.55 LCM)
  • 200 back – 2:03.97

Clark’s 1:04.55 in long course is a Winter Nationals cut, and backstroke is her specialty. She’s made marked improvement in a short amount of time– during her freshman and sophomore seasons, Clark was stuck at 58 in the 100 and above 2:10 in the 200. All of her best times came this spring at the NCSA, and after a strong summer, she looks primed to deliver some more drops in her high school senior season.

With her SCY times now, Clark is already of immediate value to the Eagles. She would’ve been an A finalist in both the 100 and 200 backstrokes at last year’s CCSA Championships, and will help fill the void left behind by Elise Haan, an NCAA All-American who transferred to NC State.
