SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s swimming and diving team took down the Providence College Friars and Holy Cross Crusaders this weekend, finishing out with scores of 216.5-82.5 and 188-112.
The Bulldogs are now 4-0 on the season.
Notes and Notables: Holy Cross
- Megan Beasley placed first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
- Bryant’s 400 medley relay (Fox, Niemcyzk, Witkus) took first with a time of 3:58.63.
- Makayla Pearce placed first in both the 1000 and 500 free relay; Pearce has yet to lose in the distance events this season.
- Jill Carline placed second in the 200-yard freestyle, while Niemcyzk and LeGallais finished in the top six.
- Alice Stenbeck picked up a win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:07.00.
- Ruby Tonelli placed first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.79 and also picked up a victory in the 200-yard backstroke (57.34).
- Marcella Figueroa claimed victory in the 50 free.
- Alice Stenbeck led the pack in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing first with a time of 2:26.49 overall. Elayana Pistrin and Jocie Niemcyzk went one and two, giving Bryant a top-three sweep for the event.
- Amanda Witkus claimed another 200 IM victory this weekend with a time of 2:13.99.
- The 200 freestyle relay (Schow, LeGallais, Carline) dominated this weekend with a time of 1:39.65.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men’s swimming and diving team took down the Providence College Friars and Holy Cross Crusaders this weekend with a 94 and 30-point deficit, finishing out with 189-95 and 162-132.
The Bulldogs are now 3-1 on the season.
Notes and Notables: Holy Cross
- Chris Buonocore placed second in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
- The 400 medley relay (Lajoie, Austin, Misto) took first with a time of 3:28.66.
- Leo Luna dominated the 1000 free and 500 free. Leo has yet to lose a race this season.
- Griffin Lajoie took first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 25.94.
- James Misto and Conner Lofstrom went one and two in the 50 free. Misto also took first in the 100 yard butterfly.
- Nick Andrews placed first in the 100 free.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Holy Cross women’s swimming and diving program suffered a 188-112 loss to nonconference opponent Bryant Saturday following two days of competition.
The defeat sends the Crusaders to 1-2 on the young season while the Bulldogs move to 3-1 with the win.
Holy Cross hosted the diving events on Friday in the Hart Center Pool. Freshman Brenna Short placed second on the one (261.83) and three-meter board (261.38).
The meet shifted to Bryant’s Chace Center Pool on Saturday. Freshman Laura Arciniegas tallied a pair of first place individual showings in the 100-yard backstroke (59.44) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.29).
Junior Ainsley Nalen brought home first place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.87) as well as sophomore Devin Brindle in the 100-yard freestyle (53.52).
The Crusaders will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 10:00 a.m. for the Worcester City Championship hosted by WPI.
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men’s swimming and diving team took part in a two-day nonconference dual meet and was dropped by Bryant 162-132 Saturday afternoon.
The Crusaders fall to 1-2 on the year while the Bulldogs move to 3-1.
The diving events took place at Holy Cross’ Hart Center Pool on Friday. Sophomore Luke Parada finished first on the one-meter board with a 312.16 score. Freshman Griffin Casey also came in first on the three-meter board at 325.58 smashing his old school record mark in the process.
The swimming events shifted to the Chace Center Pool on Saturday. Junior Jack Greiner swept all three individual events he competed in tallying a trio of first place showings in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.68), the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.94) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:56.45). Alex Michael (1:59.24) and Quentin Miquel (2:02.43) were second and third in the 200 IM.
Junior Zach Bubonovich brought home first in both of his individual events, the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.22) and the 100-yard breaststroke (58.99).
Senior Rory Hess hit the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly (1:56.51).
Holy Cross will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 10:00 a.m. for the Worcester City Championship hosted by WPI.
