The meet featured several close races, including the women’s 500-yard freestyle where three Beloit swimmers – Gerstler, Nora Krystowiak (Kenosha, Wis.), and Lucy Monnig (Beaverton, Ore.) – finished within striking distance of each other. The depth of Beloit’s women’s team proved crucial in securing their overall victory.
