MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State University released a list of 18 individuals who were named Centennial Scholars on Thursday, October 4. Among those names was swimming and diving senior Lauren Elston.
Elston was one of four representatives from the College of Sciences and Humanities. The senior was honored at the Governor’s Residence during a luncheon hosted by Indiana’s First Lady (and Ball State alumna) Janet Holcomb.
As a reward for the distinct honor, Elston was awarded full tuition for the 2018-19 academic year. The award is designed to help empower the students to reach their full potential in their professional lives while making meaningful contributions to their communities. Elston is majoring in meteorology.
Elston and the Ball State swimming & diving team will be in action on Saturday (Oct. 6) morning at 10 a.m. for the Red & White intrasquad meet. The season officially begins on Oct. 13 at the Indiana Intercollegiate, hosted by Purdue University.
