Arrowhead, McFarland Rising in 12/28 WI High School Rankings

Madison Memorial and Monona Grove remain atop the Wisconsin high school swimming rankings, but challengers Arrowhead and Monona Grove are on the rise in the latest WISCA ranking.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (WISCA) releases the rankings each Monday based on the top times in the state. Currently the 2014 state champs lead both Division 1 (big schools) and Divison 2 (small schools).

In Division 1, it’s Madison Memorial remaining in the lead after a 103-67 drubbing of Madison West, currently the 3rd-ranked team state-wide. Five-time defending state champ Memorial leads the state by a whopping 261 ranking points right now, and a win over West – the runner-up behind Memorial the past three seasons – only cements that lofty ranking.

Arrowhead rose two slots to pass up West for second in the current rankings.

Defending champs Monona Grove lead Division 2, but the gap has narrowed considerably from last week. McFarland rose from 4th to 2nd and sits just 49 points back.
