The Arkansas swimming and diving team heads west this weekend to Los Angeles, as the Razorbacks compete in a quad-meet with host UCLA, Washington State and UC Davis on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
Arkansas (2-1) takes its 27-meet non-conference win streak to LA, including winning 14 consecutive on the road.
“We are just really excited to come out to the west coast and compete against some great teams, especially some Pac-12 competition,” said head coach Neil Harper. “This is a great trip for our seniors, who have led us all the way so far this season. It will be a great test for us on the road to see how good of a team we are under pressure in someone else’s pool. UCLA has a great diving program, so that will be a great test for us, as well.”
It will be the second-ever meeting between Arkansas and Washington State (2-2), while the first with UCLA (1-1) and UC Davis (0-1).The Cougars won the lone meeting 119-86 in 2004-05.
The Razorbacks are coming off an SEC tri-meet two weeks ago, splitting the day with a win at Missouri and a loss to South Carolina.
Freshman diver Brooke Schultz leads the team with four first-place finishes this season, two each on 1m and 3m springboard. She was named SEC Diver of the Week following her performance against Missouri and South Carolina, where she outscored the field by 21.20 points on the 1m.
Senior Olivia Weekley ranks second on the team with three individual titles this season, claiming the 50 free at SMU, while winning the 100 fly at both of Arkansas’ meets this season. Seniors Chelsea Tatlow and Jessie Garrison and freshman Peyton Palsha follow with two wins.
Of the 16 individual first-place finishes this season, eight are by seniors and seven are by freshman.
