Singapore Set To Host Many Of The World’s Top Swimmers

The Singapore National Stadium and Sports Hub will be opening in mid-June and in September will host many of the world’s top swimmers in the Singapore Swim Stars competition.

The event is scheduled for September 6th and the list of athletes that have been confirmed for the competition is incredible. It includes; Jessica Hardy, Ruta Meilutyte, Jeanette Ottesen, Femke Heemskerk, Cullen Jones, Eamon Sullivan, Florent Manaudou, Eugene Godsoe, Fredrick Bousquet, Katinka Hosszu, Roland Schoeman, Ellen Gandy, Cesar Cielo, Christian Sprenger, Steffen Deibler, Noemie Thomas, Katerine Savard, Michael Jamieson, Luca Dotto, Marcelo Chierighini, Jimmy Feigen, George Bovell, Georgia Davies, Fran Halsall, Bruno Fratus, Camille Lacourt, Belinda Hocking, Anthony Ervin and Rikke Moller Pedersen.

The organizers have also invited Ryan Lochte, but have not received confirmation that he will attend the event.

The format of the competition has not been released, but it has been set up to be more than just a competition. It is a three day  event that has a goal of promoting the sport in Singapore by engaging corporate partners and the youth of the community.

On Friday September fifth there will be two corporate events held the Singapore Swim Stars Tables which will be a luncheon and then the Singapore Swim Stars VIP Dinner.

On the morning of Saturday September the 6th there will be 10 youth swim clinics held throughout the city which will include 10 swim stars. The competition will be held from 7-9:30 pm which will also include a synchronized swimming show that includes teams from China, France, Japan, Russia, Spain, Italy, USA and Canada.

The events on Sunday September 7th will include an Open Water Challenge and the Kids and Stars relay.

This will be an incredible event that will showcases the brand new National Stadium and Sports Hub which is a 1.33 billion dollar project which has a retractable roof and the ability to seat 55,000.

Any involvement/recuitment of volunteers/helpers for this event?

YES!.. I think I might go see this one.. Singapore is a cheap 1 hour flying time away.
