Guys, just say the obvious…chase died on free, he pigged. I put money that was his worst free split ever on free in a Trials or Intl meet for him. Katie Grimes and Chase both split 1:00s. And the ooooh when he and Finke touched was the crowd wanting Bobby to win. No mention of silver medalist Litherland not being in the mix at all?

I am not a fan of 50 of strokes but last night they were some good/close/fast races. With no 50s raced last year at Trials or Olympics, I am not surprised they were super fast. Men’s breast and both 100 backs have really gotten fast the last couple years.

Chase sure looked like he was hurting–might have regretted swimming the 400IM. But I would be shocked if he drops it at worlds even if he makes the 200IM. He did the work to swim it at trials and get his hand on the wall, why drop it now?

My key takeaways from tonight’s session.

1. I’m glad Emma was able to refocus and get on the worlds team. Also grimes making it was a little bit of a surprise to me but not that much.

2. I’m happy and glad for Carson. Him already having a spot on the team for the 800 free relay probably helped him so much with this. Also Kalisz barely holding off finke was a sight to see thought it was going to be Carson holding off finke but couldn’t be happier for both of the guys.

3. 100 fly was for both men and women was basically how I thought it would go especially since casas scratched. I believe Julian is going… Read more »
