Caitlin Hefner, an incoming high school senior from Mount Holly, North Carolina, has committed to swim for Division I UNC Asheville. Hefner will graduate from high school in spring 2021 and join the Bulldog’s class of 2025.
Hefner is a current year-round swimmer for SwimMAC Carolina. At the 2019 North Carolina Long Course Senior Championships, Hefner placed 3rd in the 1500 freestyle with a time of 17:48.57. She is also a Futures and YMCA National qualifier.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me on my journey over the last 12 1/2 years, all the coaches and teachers that have pushed me, and all of my friends who have always supported me. This year at the 2020 CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships with UNCA, Hefner would have placed 4th in the 1650 freestyle (16:58.07) with her current best time as a junior in high school.
This time would have made her the Bulldog’s fastest mile swimmer at CCSA.

At the CCSA Championships this year, the team finished 4th—the highest conference finish in program history. The Bulldogs also were named a CSCAA Scholar All-American team for their 16th straight semester.
