Paige Hall (2021) Verbally Commits to Ohio State

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Paige Hall, a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Vienna, Virginia, has announced her verbal commitment to Ohio State for the 2021-22 school year. Michigander Gwen Woodbury has also committed to the class of 2025. Hall noted:

“I chose this school because for many reasons but I was most impressed with their beautiful campus and facilities and their unmatched resources for OSU student athletes. I was also impressed by how well I got along with the team. I love the relationship the teammates share with each other and the coaches. I look forward to furthering my athletic and academic careers at such an amazing school.  I want to thank my amazing coaches and teammates at Machine Aquatics as well as my friends and family for all of their love and support.”

Hall swims for Bishop O’Connell High School, where she is a junior, and Machine Aquatics. She won the 50/100 free (24.17/52.02) at the Washington Metro Prep School League Championships, then placed 3rd in the 50 free (23.79) and 2nd in the 100 back (55.33) at the Virginia Independent Schools State Meet. A month later she competed at NCSA Spring Championship in the 50/100/200 free, 100/200 back, and 100/200 IM. She finaled in both backstrokes and went best times in the 50 back and 100 IM. At Speedo Junior Nationals this summer, Hall came in 24th in the 100 back and earned PBs in the 100 back (1:03.55), 200 free (2:05.64), and 200 IM (2:21.52).

Top SCY times:

  • 100 back – 55.14
  • 200 back – 1:58.96
  • 50 free – 23.79
  • 100 free – 51.49
  • 200 free – 1:50.20
  • 200 IM – 2:06.97
  • 400 IM – 4:23.35

With another year and a half of high school ahead of her to improve her times, Hall is already quite close to scoring at conference. It took 54.31/1:58.80 to get a second swim in the backstroke events at 2019 B1G Championships. In freestyle she would need 23.10/50.57/1:48.56 and in IM, 2:00.37/4:19.59.
