With just four swimmers remaining, the momentum looked to be shifting in Margo Geer‘s favor heading into the last round, but Madison Kennedy certainly had a shot if she could recreate her opening round swim (24.88).
WOMEN’S FINAL ROUND
- Margo Geer, 24.91 ($4,000)
- Madison Kennedy, 25.02 ($3,000)
- Lia Neal, 25.15 ($2,000)
- Farida Osman, 25.84 ($1,000)
Geer saved her best for last, getting under 25 seconds for the second time in less than an hour to win the women’s crown in 24.91. She showed great consistency across all three swims, with times of 24.97, 25.01 and 24.91. She takes home $4,000 for her efforts.
Kennedy made a strong push for the title, getting down to 25.02 after a 25.24 in round two but ultimately came up a little bit shy. She earns $3,000, while Lia Neal (25.15) and Farida Osman (25.84) take home $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.
