CCSU Picks Up RYWC Makos Breaststroker/IM’er Gracie Regan

Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut Makos’ Gracie Regan has verbally committed to Central Connecticut State University, staying local for her collegiate experience.

Regan’s Top Times (SCY)

  • 500 free – 5:14.49
  • 100 breast – 1:06.42
  • 200 breast – 2:22.90
  • 200 IM – 2:09.87
  • 400 IM – 4:36.95

Regan’s a great breaststroker, but she’s made huge strides in the IM events recently. From 2014 to 2015, she dropped almost 5 seconds in the 200 and a whopping 16 seconds in the 400.

At last year’s NEC Championships, Regan would’ve made the 400 IM A final and just missed out on the 200 breast A final. She also would’ve placed in the 200 IM and 100 breast B finals. CCSU returns sophomore Maddy Garber this year– Garber was a double NEC Champ in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, cracking NCAA ‘B’ cuts in both as well as setting new conference records, and Regan will get two years of overlap with her.

CCSU won the NEC Champs last season by a mere 24 points. Adding commits like Regan will certainly keep them in the hunt for conference titles.
