Rikke Moller Pedersen had the performance of the day on the third day of the Danish open.
Pedersen posted a 2:21.60 to win the women’s 200 breaststroke and take over the top spot in the world rankings. The previous fastest time in 2015 was a 2:23.03 recorded by Kanako Watanabe of Japan in February.

Pedersen destroyed her competition winning the event by almost a full six seconds. Jenna Laukkanen finished second in a time of 2:27.53 followed by Martina Moravcikova who touched in a time of 2:28.84.
Eyglo Osk Gustafsdottir of Iceland also provided some excitement on Monday evening breaking the Nordic record in the women’s 200 backstroke. Gustafsdottir took the event in a time of 2:09.86 breaking Pernille Jessing Larsen‘s record time of 2:10.27 set in 2009. Her time also places her fourth in the world rankings.

Simona Baumrtova finished second in a time of 2:11.33 followed by Barbora Zavadova who hit the wall in a time of 2:13.71.
Pal Joensen won the men’s 1500 freestyle in a time of 15:13.88 a time which puts eighth in the world rankings. It was not an easy win for Joensen who was challenged by Wojciech Wodjak who finished in a time of 15:15.57. Filip Zaborowski collected the bronze finishing in a time of 15:32.07.
Matti Mattsson took the men’s 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:12.25. Mattsson’s time is currently the 11th fastest swum this year. Christoph Meier finished second in a time of 2:18.92 followed by Marcin Stolarski who touched in a time of 2:19.17.
Pawel Korzeniowski won the men’s 100 freestyle in a time of 49.89. He was followed by Andrey Govorov who posted a 50.07 and Kacper Majchrzak who recorded a 50.18.
Pernille Blume took the women’s event in a time of 54.62 followed by Louise Hansson who collected the silver in a time of 54.94. Cecilie Waage Johannesse finished third in a time of 55.50.
Mateusz Wysoczynski took the men’s 200 backstroke in a time of 2:02.60 while Martina Elhenicka won the women’s 1500 freestyle in a time of 16:55.67.
