2025 NCAA DII Championships: Results & Records From A Thrilling Meet

The Nova Southeastern women earned their third consecutive NCAA DII title by winning the final relay, while the Drury men claimed their first title since 2014 at this week’s 2025 NCAA Division II Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.

This was one of the best Division II Championships in recent memory. The team races were competitive until the final session, with the women’s race between Nova Southeastern and Drury undecided until the 400 freestyle relay. The Sharks won the race and beat the Panthers by 12 points, while the Drury men locked up the title ahead of Tampa, the defending champions, during the final session and won by 74 points.

Plus, there were intriguing storylines emerging from all directions from Jacob Hamlin sweeping his individual events to Bryn Greenwaldt competing in two national championships on the same day.

The stage had been set for a record-breaking weekend during the regular season as Hamlin, Agata Naskret, Cedric Buessing, Kirabo Namutebi, Jonette Laegreid, and the Drury men’s 400 medley relay had all broken division records before arriving in Indianapolis. The swimmers delivered at the championships as 13 NCAA DII records were broken over five days. The frenzy reached its peak on Saturday night, when the men’s 1650 free, women’s 100 free, women’s 200 back, and women’s 200 breast records all went down.

Below, find a full summary of the meet’s records, results, and team standings.

NCAA Division II Records:

Hamlin factored on four Division II records this week, teaming with Caleb Brandon, Parker Knollman, and Rafael Ponce de Leon to break the men’s 800 freestyle relay record on the opening night of the meet.

Agata Naskret and Luna Mertins also broke multiple division records this weekend. Naskret reset her 100 backstroke record twice, first leading-off Colorado Mesa’s winning 400 medley relay in 52.53. The next night, Naskret knocked a hundredth off her mark to win gold in the individual event before completing the backstroke sweep with a 1:53.25 in the 200 backstroke.

Mertins became the first DII woman to break 52 seconds in the 100 butterfly at her conference championship. She brought the record even lower by winning gold in 51.78. She then broke the 100 freestyle record on the final night of the meet with a 48.07.
