2016 U.S. Olympic Trials Pick ‘Em Contest, Presented by TYR

2016 U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS

The 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials are now hours, not days, away, and with Wednesday’s release of the psych sheets, it’s time to start making your picks.

This is one of two contests we’re running for the Olympic Trials. You can also play ‘guess the times’ here.

TO PLAY PICK ‘EM, CLICK HERE (GOOGLE LOGIN REQUIRED)

SCORING SYSTEM

Correctly picking a swimmer to place:

  • 1st – 7 points
  • 2nd – 5 points
  • 3rd – 4 points
  • 4th – 3 points
  • 5th place – 1 point (100/200 frees only)
  • 6th place – 1 point (100/200 frees only)

For this contest, if you correctly pick 1st AND 2nd place (aka the two Olympians in the event), in the right order, you will receive 1 bonus point.

Picks will close at 8AM Central (Omaha) time on Sunday, June 265th, and at that time, we will post everyone’s picks for them to see.

By using the new Google Forms format, you CAN go in and edit your responses up until 8AM on Sunday. You can also use this “edit responses” ability to go in and print or save your answers.

The tie-breaker for prizes, if necessary, will be the most correctly-picked winners, then 2nd-place finishers, then 3rd-place finishers, etc. in the relevant time period.
Prizes

The top 3 scorers for each day of the competition will receive:

  • USA-themed TYR goggles
  • USA-themed TYR cap

I normally do my picks in excel first (so I can print and save them, etc) and then do them here.

If phelps scratches the 100fr but places like the 3rd or 4th fastest time what do we put down?

I have the same question – is the contest based on place in the finals, or overall time/who swims the relay at Olympics? I too think Phelps will swim prelims, perhaps semi finals of 100, 200 free, but then skip the final after posting a top 4 time; same for Lochte in the 100 free, and perhaps Ledecky in the 100 free.

For some reason, my 1500 4th Place scroll down bar shows the 400 im selections…

Not sure if its just an issue on my end… But on the very last selection for the Mens 1500 4th place, the options are the 400 IM participants, not the 1500 ones
