190 Athletes from 25 Nations Set for FINA Artistic Swimming in Paris

The FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019, to be staged from February to June, kicks-off in Paris (FRA) on Thursday February 28, integrating the famous and prestigious 9th edition of the French Open at the Aquatic Centre Maurice Thorez (50m indoor pool).

With 8 meets spread between Europe, Asia and America and a Super Final to be organized in Budapest (HUN) for the first time since the inception of the World Series in 2017, the competition starts in the French capital where 14 soloists will take part in the Solo Tech, 23 soloists in the Solo Free, 22 duets in the Duet Tech, 22 duets in the Duet Free, 6 duets in the Mixed Duet Tech, 5 duets in the Mixed Duet Free, 7 teams in the Team Tech, 10 teams in the Team Free, 7 teams in the Combination and 5 teams in the Highlight routine. All the international artistic swimmers participating in any of the 10 events are eligible for the ranking and therefore for the prize money.

Twenty-five (25) delegations from Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Croatia, Curacao, Spain, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Serbia, Switzerland, Slovakia and Ukraine have registered.

The event will then move to Alexandroupolis (GRE) from April 4-7 and Kazan (RUS) from April 19-21. Two Asian hosts, Tokyo (JPN) and Beijing (CHN) will then welcome the 2019 circuit on April 27-29 and May 4-5 respectively.

The artistic swimming competition will then stop in North America as Greensboro (USA) will stage the sixth leg from May 24-26 and Quebec City (CAN) the seventh leg from May 30 to June 1.

Finally the circuit will conclude in Barcelona (ESP) from May 31- June 2, before the first Super Final is organized in Budapest (HUN) from June 14-16, 2019.
