The 2nd day of the Huntsville Futures Championships saw 15-year-old Rylee Erisman (Laker Swimming) put on a show in the women’s 100 free. The youngster won the race by nearly 2 full seconds, throwing down a 54.25. That performance comes in just off Erisman’s personal best of 54.22, which she swam at the US Olympic Trials last month. She was out fast, splitting 25.97 on the opening 50m, then came home in 28.28.

It was an Erisman sweep in the 100 freestyles, as Rylee’s older brother, Ryan Erisman, 17, took the men’s 100 free in 50.99. The Cal recruit clipped his previous best of 51.06 with the swim. He was locked in a very tight race with fellow 17-year-old Luke Bedsole (Huntsville Swim Association), who came in 2nd with a 51.07. Bedsole, an Auburn recruit, holds a career best of 50.98.

Sarasota Sharks 17-year-old Sienna Angove, an Ohio State recruit, won the women’s 400 IM decisively in 4:45.38. With the swim, Angove came in just under her personal best of 4:45.49, which she swam last summer. She was out pretty fast, splitting 1:04.84 on fly and 1:13.57 on back, for a 2:18.41 on the first 200m of the race. She then tacked on a 1:24.93 breast split and a 1:02.04 on free coming home.

Gwinnett Aquatics 16-year-old Baylor Stanton won the men’s 40 IM in 4:25.06. Stanton was a bit faster in prelims, where he stopped the clock in 4:24.01. He holds a personal best of 4:22.02, which he swam at the US Olympic Trials last month.

In the women’s 100 back, Carmel Swim Club 14-year-old Ellie Clarke picked up the win by over a second, touching in 1:01.91. Clarke, who has been having a terrific meet in Huntsville, tied her personal best in the event exactly. She had already gone 1:01.91 at the Indiana Swimfest a couple weeks ago.

The men’s 100 back saw Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club 17-year-old Ethan Ekk claim victory in 56.05. He chipped 0.21 seconds off his personal best with the performance.
