UNC Picks Up Verbal Commitment from Diver Kali Becker

Kali Becker, who dives for Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland and Montgomery Dive Club, has made a verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina for 2015-16.

“I fell in love with UNC ever since I dove there when I was 10. It is a terrific school academically as well. Also, I have so many friends on the team, and it really feels like a family.”

As a freshman at Churchill, Becker won the Maryland State Diving Championships at University of Maryland, College Park. Her 435.80 points broke a 14-year-old pool record by 22.50 points. She also won Washington Metros that year. Her sophomore year she won Metros and was third at States, and her junior year she was third at Metros and second at States. She has twice been named to the Washington Post High School All-Met Swimming and Diving First Team, the only diver on the team.

Becker is a 2014 Junior National Championships qualifier on both 1M and 3M.

Thank you Dive Dove! Love seeing the Dive commits included. UNC has pulled in some great divers last year and commits this year – both girls and boys. I suspect these divers will make a big impact for the Heels over the next 4 years.
