Zach Luttrell Verbally Commits to Arizona

Pennsylvania high school state finalist Zach Luttrell has verbally committed to the University of Arizona, his family confirms to us today.

Luttrell is a middle-distance freestyler with yards bests of 1:40.90/4:30.53/9:31.85 in the 200, 500, and 1000 yard freestyles, plus a 16:05 in the mile.

Luttrell was 3rd at last year’s AAA (big school) High School State Championship meet in Pennsylvania in the 500 free, and within two seconds of eventual state champion Zachary Buerger. He swims for Hershey High School and the Hershey Swim Club.

Luttrell stands 6’3″ tall, so his size gives hope that he’s got some potential.

He’s the second good mid-distance recruit that the Wildcats have picked up in the last week, along with Chris Wieser from the country’s other coast.
