What Song Is Lady Gaga Singing At The Olympic Opening Ceremonies?

2024 PARIS SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES

American superstar singer Lady Gaga kicked off the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremonies with a dazzling rendition of the song “Mon Truc en Plumes” while walking along the Seine River.

The song, which translates to “My Thing With Feathers” in English, is by Renee “Zizi” Jeanmaire, an iconic French singer, ballet dancer and actress.

The song was among Jeanmaire’s top features while performing at the Alhambra Theatre in the West End of London beginning in 1961.

Lady Gaga was accompanied by a troupe of eight dancers carrying pick feather fans while walking along the river and singing, paying homage to Jeanmaire who did the same (with 12 men) for her signature tune.

Lady Gaga is also expected to sing “La Vie En Rose” in a duet alongside Celine Dion during the Opening Ceremonies.

The song translates to “Life in Pink” and was performed by acclaimed French singer Edith Piaf. Lady Gaga also sang “La Vie en Rose” during the 2018 romance/musical film A Star Is Born.

Who thinks that Paris Hilton would perform at the closing ceremony, during the handover to Los Angeles 2028 part? Yes, because of their namesake. Billie Eillish would also perform.

Based on recent events, the band should have been “The Rolling Stones” and the song “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”.

London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony was better.

Daniel Craig as James Bond, the two corgis, and her majesty the Queen.

I’m watching a bit of NBC’s coverage of the opening ceremonies.

Not quite the same without Matt Lauer adding his personal insights! 🙂
