NCAP’s Jake Goldman has committed to Caltech for this coming fall. Goldman is a senior at Fauquier High School in Virginia.
So excited to spend the next four years at the California Institute of Technology in sunny Pasadena! Go Beavers! 🍊
TOP TIMES (SCY)
- 100 fly – 50.55
- 200 fly – 1:50.88
- 200 IM – 1:54.31
- 400 IM – 4:02.65
- 100 breast – 58.62
Goldman is primarily a butterflier and IMer. At the 2021 Virginia Class 4 Championships, he finished runner-up in the 200 IM (1:55.37) and fifth in the 100 fly (52.73). His lifetime bests in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 breast and 400 IM are all from late 2020/early 2021.
Last season, Goldman would’ve been #2 on the Caltech roster in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 breast and 200 IM, while he would’ve led the team in the 400 IM. He would’ve also been one of just two men under two minutes in the 200 fly. He should be a high-impact contributor for Caltech right away– his current bests would’ve scored in A-finals at the 2020 SCIAC Championships in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM.
Goldman joins Jason Lin in Caltech’s incoming class.

Congrats! My son is a swimmer there and he loves it.
Is Cal Tech the same school usually referred to as just Cal?
Nope.
Cal = University of California at Berkeley, near San Francisco. D1
Caltech = California Institute of Technology, in Pasadena outside of LA. DIII – Very small elite school focusing on science and math (roughly 1,000 undergrads and 1,000 grad students)
(And big congrats to Jake – huge accomplishment!)
Great shirt! Lets go Caps!
Congratulations.
