Video: The New Mexico State University 2014-2015 Season In Three Minutes

The New Mexico State University Aggies are celebrating a successful season that saw them finish second overall at the WAC Conference Championships with four girls earning individual hardware.

In Rick Pratt’s 10th season as the head coach of the Aggies, his team displayed one of their top results. They came home with 539 points at the WAC Championships finishing second only to Northern Arizona.

There, Amina Gummesson, Dorottya Lennert, and Jessica Legge all managed to take home individual medals in multiple events.

Gummerson was the winner in the 500 freestyle with a very swift 4:50.94. She earned herself a silver medal in the 200 freestyle with her time of 1:48.95, and showed her absolute dominance by taking a bronze in the 100 free as well. In the 100 she clocked in at 50.96.

Lennert was a star in the fly. After breaking the school record in the 100 (53.96) and 200 fly (2:00.34) at the UNLV invite earlier in the season, Lennert managed to grab two silvers at the WAC Championships. She was a 54.11 in the 100 fly, and just off her 200 fly school record with a 2:00.69.

In the breaststroke events Legge asserted herself as one of the most dominant figures, picking up her third straight WAC win in the 100 breast with a 1:01.74. She also repeated as the champion in the 200 with a 2:15.06.

Cassandra Rupp was the only other swimmer to grab individual hardware at the meet, grabbing a third place finish in the 200m backstroke with a 2:02.12.

Both of New Mexico State’s medley relays scored. They ended up placing second in both the 4×50 medley relay, and the 4×100 medley relay. In the latter they were a 3:41.03, and in the 200 they collectively threw down a 1:42.34.

The video above summarizes what was a successful 2014-2015 season for the New Mexico State University Aggies.
