Video: Marist College Training Trip

The Marist College swim and dive team knows how to make even a grueling training trip look fun. The team produced this short video to show off their time in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The team trained at the Olympic Natatorium in San Juan from December 27 to January 2. The facility features both long course and short course pools, plus diving boards and platforms up to 10 meters.

During their time in Puerto Rico the Red Foxes also visited the El Morro Fort and Fort San Cristobal at the San Juan National Historic Site.

The team also completed the Mountain Dew Olympic challenge over the trip, which consisted of a 100-yard dash on the beach, a 1-minute sit up competition, a plank contest, a jump rope contest, a 400-yard dash, and a 4×100-yard relay swim in the Atlantic Ocean. Team Dodway won the challenge with 50 points and was composed of Josh DodwayRobert LynchColleen Lampe, Aileen FitzpatrickRoss LippePeter Gallino, Mark Miller, Sarah MoscaLauren Katz, and Deirdre Connor.

Marist will begin the second half of its regular season with a dual meet against Southern Connecticut State on Jan. 9. The Red Foxes will also face Boston College, Seton Hall, and Binghamton later this season. The women are currently 6-1 in dual competition, while the men are 4-2.

Later this season, the team will compete in the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships on February 10 through February 13 at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
