USA Swimming Releases Psych Sheets for Olympic Trials

Update: here’s a full breakdown of some of the more notable event lineups.

USA Swimming has released the psych sheets for the 2012 US Olympic Swimming Trials im Omaha, Nebraska that begin next Monday, June 25th.

These psych sheets do not necessarily represent what each athlete will swim – it is not uncommon for the big athletes to over-subscribe and then scratch depending on who else they see entered and how their week is going, but it does give a good idea of who will be swimming what.

See the full psych sheets here, and stay tuned as we break down some of the more notable entries of the meet.

I’m very disappointed by Ryan Lochte. I thought he would swim all events.

Look harder – he’s also been entered in some women’s events.

Another deconstruct: how about if teens Franklin, Neal and Ledecky all make the 800frr? One is a given, the others are seeded 8 & 13, respectively. Chenault is in there too, just not in the convo as much. Who will surprise? Future is bright for the ladies.

Just getting a chance to deconstruct the psych sheet now. First thing I noticed: 5 of the top 25 men 400IM entries are NBAC products/developed. Phelps, Kalisz, Morris, Surhoff, Offutt.

Dagny is no longer competing. She’s taking time off, and may even have retired.

I don’t see Dagny Knutson entered at all.
