USA Water Polo Men’s Senior National Team Head Coach Dejan Udovicic has announced two rosters for upcoming team travel to Australia and New Zealand. One group will compete in two exhibition matches against the Australian National Team on March 28 and 30 on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. The other group will take part in the FINA Intercontinental Tournament in Auckland, New Zealand from April 3-8. This marks the first official competition for Team USA since the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Four-time Olympian Jesse Smith (Coronado, CA/Pepperdine/NYAC) leads the way competing in both events and will be joined during the trip by fellow Olympians Alex Obert (Loomis, CA/Pacific/NYAC), Ben Hallock (Westlake Village, CA/Stanford/LA Premier), Alex Roelse (Maarssen, Netherlands/UCLA/NYAC), Alex Bowen (Santee, CA/Stanford/NYAC) and Luca Cupido (Santa Margherita, Italy/California/Olympic Club).
Both matches in Australia will stream live, see below for more information. In New Zealand, Team USA will square off against New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Japan and China before advancement. Live streaming details be shared as they become available.
