TYR Sport has a fresh, new lineup of all-star athletes, including 22-year-old Olympic Gold Medalist Lauren Perdue.
At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, Perdue achieved an impressive fourth place finish in the 200-meter freestyle, earning her a spot on the U.S. relay team. The young swimmer did not disappoint at the London Games; in fact, she helped lead the team to a Gold medal finish in the preliminary heats of the 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
Prior to this accolade, Perdue swam for the University of Virginia. During her four year collegiate career, she won a whopping 19 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championships, received 16 NCAA All-American honors, and was named the ACC Swimmer of the Year in 2011 and 2010 and ACC Swimmer of the Championships in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
“Being able to call myself a professional athlete is something that I’ve wanted my entire life and during my swimming career, so I am thrilled to be a part of Team TYR,” said Perdue. “I’m excited to join a number of great athletes and be able to represent such an amazing company, who in turn will help me feel confident and comfortable when I’m racing.”
TYR Sport is confident that Perdue has a tremendously bright future ahead of her. She is currently focused on competing in the U.S. Nationals this summer and making the 2014 Pan Pacs/World Trials Team. In the long run, she is aiming to enter the world stage once again by making the 2016 Olympic Team.
