Two-Record Day 3 For Robinsion Heads British Para International

2016 BRITISH PARA-SWIMMING INTERNATIONAL MEET

Eleanor Robinson broke the British S6 50 fly record in both prelims and finals on Monday of the British Para-Swimming International.

Robinson was 36.70 in prelims, then 36.34 in finals, clocking the most BD Points in both races and eclipsing the previous national record both times. Robinson won the title for Northampton. Her swim was worth 976 points.

Behind her in prelims, 12-year-old Sophie Woodward broke a British record in her own S3 class, going 1:27.60. She would go 1:27.84 in finals.

The other national record of the day came out of prelims of the men’s 100 fly. Connah Green of Carmarthen went 1:00.36 to break the British S14 record and lead the event in points. He didn’t compete in the final, with the win instead going to James Clegg in 1:00.35. That earned 835 points.

Claire Cashmore of Wyre Forest won the women’s 100 fly. Cashmore was 1:12.07 out of the S4 class, and scored 794 points to win by about 50.

The men’s 50 fly went to Andrew Mullen of Ren 96. Mullen was 36.60 for that win, scoring 800 points.
