TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University Men’s and Women’s swimming and diving teams had their first road meet of the 2024-2025 seasons at La Salle. The women’s team took a 182-118 victory, and the men’s team won 177-123.

How it Happened:
For the Women:
- Shannon Parrau won the 1-meter diving with a score of 290.63 and the 3-meter diving with a score of 275.85.
- The 200 Medley team of Martina Ciriesi, Tiffany Matulis, Riley Willett, and Claire Ryland won with a time 1:47.22.
- Danielle McCarthy (10:49.82) took the top spot on the podium in the 1000 Free.
- Addie Scott won the 100 Back with a 57.72 time.
- Britney Denny (2:08.45) finished first in the 200 Fly.
- Ryland (24.14), Marissa Kleckner (24.31) took the top two spots in the 50 Free.
- Ryland (52.63), Bjartey Gudmundsottir(54.19), and Summer Bontrager(54.74) swept the podium in the 100 Free.
- Madison Neal (2:07.29) and Ciriesi(2:08.65) took first and second in the 200 Back.
- Scott (5:05.31), Bridget Thomas(5:14.85), and Sophia Cerimele(5:15.85) swept the podium in the 500 Free..
- Willett (58.44) took the top spot in the 100 Fly.
- The quartet of Gudmundsottir, Kleckner, Scott, and Ryland won the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:31.82.
For the Men:
- Aidan Clark placed second in the 1-meter diving with a score of 292.95.
- Blakely Dean won the 1000 Free with a time of 9:59.45.
- Anthony Morellite(1:42.06) and Stephen McDonald(1:45.20) finished first and second in the 200 Free.
- Sean Colson took first in the 200 Back with a time of 1:53.41, Ian Hewett came in second with a time of 1:55.07.
- Colson also won the 100 Back with a time of 50.78.
- Carson Bauer (1:56.15) and Ian Lee (1:56.83) came in first and second in the 200 Fly.
- Luke Schwar (21.43) and Julian Najarro (21.69) took second and third in the 50 Free.
- Schwar took first place in the 100 Free with a time of 47.15.
- Morellite(4:43.46), McDonald(4:50.43), and Teddy Ament(4:53.44) swept the podium in the 500 Free.
- The 400 Free Relay team of Colson, Scwar, Benjamin Eischeid, and Daniel McLaughlin came in second with a time of 3:06.82.

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle swimming and diving teams held its season opener at Kirk Pool against Towson.
The men’s team lost by a score of 177-123, while the women fell to Towson by a score of 182-118.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- La Salle won its first event of the season in the men’s 200-yard medley, with a time of 1:31.5.
- Beren Celik won the women’s first event in the 200-yard free, with a result of 1:56.36.
- The Explorers would be victorious in both 100-yard breaststroke events. Carlotta Ungo won with a time of 1:06.56, and Andrea Savoca took first in the event with his time of 57.69.
- In the 50-yard freestyle for the men, Felix Jedbratt got the top spot with his result of 21.03.
- Both 200-yard breaststroke events would also be in favor of La Salle, as Ungo and Savoca won with times of 2:23.47 and 2:06.3, respectively.
- Jedbratt won his second event of the day in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.03.
- Savoca, who entered this event with already two wins, got first again in the 200-yard IM with his finish of 1:55.02.
- Felicia Rogell would make sure La Salle swept the 200-yard IM event, getting first with a time of 2:09.87.
- For diving, Lucas Dekaney won the 1m and 3m diving events. He got a score of 323.25 in the one-meter dive, and a score of 348.68 in the latter event.
- Carter Randall would finish runner-up in the three-meter event with a score of 333.23.
UP NEXT
- The Explorers return to Kirk Pool tomorrow, Oct. 12, for a home meet against Johns Hopkins. The meet will start at 11:00 a.m.
