Team USA Adds to Medal Haul at UANA Pan American Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Team USA added to its medal haul Saturday night as the UANA Pan American Synchronized Swimming Championships concluded in Calgary, Canada.
U.S. swimmers finished with 15 total medals at the championships, including nine gold, three silver and three bronze.

Members of the U.S. Junior, 13-15 and 12 & Under National Teams won four golds and a silver in the team and duet events on Saturday.
Both the U.S. 13-15 and 12 & Under squads won gold in their respective team finals. The 13-15 team easily outscored the competition, finishing with 147.0096 points. Alberta was second with 139.4202 points.
The U.S. 12 & Under team claimed gold after scoring 131.1402 points.
Nicole Dzurko (Santa Clara Aquamaids/Los Gatos, Calif.) and Hailee Heinrich (Santa Clara Aquamaids/Los Gatos, Calif.), members of the U.S. 13-15 National Team, won gold in the 13-15 duet final with 149.6205 points. Dzurko had finished first in the 13-15 solo final on Friday.
Abigail Kartzinel (La Mirada Aquabelles/Ladera Ranch, Calif.) and Chiara Steele grabbed gold in the 12 & Under duet final. The teammates on the U.S. 12 & Under National Team scored 130.7948 points.
U.S. Junior National Team athletes Caitlin Klauer (Andover, Mass./Optima Synchro) and Elizabeth Walsh (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Cincinnati Synchrogators) won silver in the Junior duet final, scoring 149.4622 points. Klauer had finished second in the Junior solo final on Friday.
The Arizona Desert Dolphins finished fourth in the team final with 141.0346 points.
