SwimMAC Athlete, Nicholas Andrade, Fights Back From Tragic Accident

Nicholas Andrade, a SwimMAC athlete, suffered a tragic diving accident visiting family in Brazil. He sustained a broken neck and trauma to his spinal cord.  For SwimMAC athletes, alumni, and friends, you can show your support by participating in the 1st Annual Team Nick 5k. At this link you can also donate if you nolonger live in the Charlotte area. 

We spoke with legendary swimming supporter, Jeff Gaeckle, the former swim coach and man behind the Charlotte Ultraswim. Jeff’s a close friend of the family:

“Nick’s a SwimMAC alum and just a great kid, the kind of young man you want your daughter to marry. We have the highest hopes for him, and we want to encourage everyone in the swimming family to participate in the 1st Annual Team Nick 5k.”
