Summer Juniors Qualifier Scarlett McGlinchey Sends Verbal To Duke (2025)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Scarlett McGlinchey has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at Duke University. McGlinchey is from Sewell, New Jersey, where she currently attends Our Lady of Mercy Academy and trains year-round with the Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club. McGlinchey has one year remaining in high school and will arrive in Durham next fall for the 2025-2026 season.

McGlinchey primarily a breaststroke specialist, and owns Summer Junior National qualifying times in both the 100 & 200. Outside of breaststroke, she’s a Futures qualifier across the IM events and nearly all  distances of freestyle.

Last season at Summer Juniors, McGlinchey recorded her top finish in the 200m breast at 92nd (2:42.71). She also competed in the short course Winter Juniors this past December, where her top event was the 100 breast. She stopped the clock in a season best time of 1:03.44 for 38th, putting her just over half a second off her personal best from March of 2023.

Highlighting McGlinchey’s spring was the NCSA Spring Championships. She recorded a top-20 finish in the 200 breast (2:18.05/2:40.50) and a top-30 finish in the 100 (1:04.05/1:14.10), with her 100m swim at night marking a new personal best. She also notched a new best time in the 400m IM, where she dropped over five seconds en route to a 27th place finish (5:01.00).
