Stanford’s Felicia Lee Named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month for January

Stanford senior Felicia Lee has been named the Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week for January after going undefeated in both her individual and relay races for the month.

Lee has had an incredible season, built off of a strong summer of performance, and following her shoulder surgery early in the 2012-2013 season, things are coming together for the former blue-chip recruit. In dual meets against Texas, Arizona, and Arizona State, a list that includes at least two possible top-10 squads at NCAA’s, Lee went a combined 14-0 in her swims as Stanford swept all three of those teams.

After not winning the award in the first three years of her career, this is now the 2nd time in three months that she’s won the award (she took the title in November as well).

The Cardinal, like Lee, are on fire, and will have a ton of confidence going into their televised (Pac-12 Network) meet against the Olympian-heavy squad of the Cal Golden Bears on February 15th at home.

Comparatively, Cal is coming off of a sluggish January, but they will have something to build off of: sophomore diver Anne Kastler was named the conference’s Women’s Diver of the Month for January on Thursday as well. She dove at 5 different meets in the month, and placed no lower than 2nd, including wins against USC and Arizona.
