ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Mia Sinkiewicz has been named a winner of a 2025 Winter State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Good Neighbor Award. Sinkiewicz is one of 12 athletes across all Valley winter sports chosen for the honor.
In order to win the award, a student-athlete must be in good academic standing, demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport during the season of recognition.
Academically, Sinkiewicz has a 3.67 culmative GPA in Biological Science: Pre-Physician Assistant. She has been on the MVC Honor Roll every season since 2021 and has been apart of SIU’s College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American Teams in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
As for community service, Sinkiewicz helps with freshman move-in and provides swim lessons to preschoolers. She has also participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, canned food drives and the Beach Sweep Clean-up. Additionally, Sinkiewicz is a Salukis Success guest speaker and SAAC member.
