WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Seton Hall women’s swimming rebounded from their loss against Towson, defeating Monmouth 117-85 in an inter-state battle.

How It Went
Mandy Zajdzinski opened the Pirates individual program with a dominant win in the 1000 Freestyle with a 10:29.86, 33 seconds clear of second place. with a 5:04.24. Later on in the meet, Zajdzinski went on to finish second in the 100 Freestyle later in the meet with a 53.55.

Senior Allie Waggoner won twice this week, in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle. The Moorestown native touched the wall with a 1:56.37 and a 5:05.92, respectively. This was Waggoner’s first 200 Freestyle of the season.

In the sprint freestyle event, 2023 BIG EAST Champion swept both. She claimed the 100 Freestyle in a swift a 52.24, over a second clear of second place. Heim also claimed the victory in her first 50 Freestyle race of the season with a 24.43.

Later on in the meet, Transfer sophomore Shun Qi Lim claimed victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.49. This was Lim’s first win since the season opening meet against Rider.

The Pirates secured the victory by the time the 200 Freestyle Relay came to close out the meet. The lineup of Naima Hazell, Mandy Zajdzinksi, Carys Graville and Natalie Heim claimed victory over Monmouth with a 1:37.56, totaling a three second difference between the two teams.

What’s Next
The Pirates’ swimmers are back in the pool on Saturday, October 26, when they travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for the Bucknell Fall Invitational.

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Seton Hall men’s swimming and diving team rebounded from their narrow loss against Towson, defeating Monmouth 114-90 in an inter-state battle.

The Pirates opened the meet with familiar success in the 200 Medley Relay. Balint Marosi, Ben Endersby , Michael Klimaszewski and Kevin Cary claimed victory to open the meet with a time 1:32.42.

After not competing last week, junior Clil Halevi performed on the same level he did during his 1000 Freestyle against Rider. However, this time it was much more of a challenge. Halevi won the 1000 Freestyle by less than two seconds with a 9:36.08.

Just like every other meet this season, Junior Kevin Cary continued his dominant run of form. In the 200 Freestyle, Cary dominated the competition by four seconds with 1:52.05. After the first 100, He held a two second lead. In the 100 Freestyle, Cary laid down the gauntlet and claimed victory by over one-and-a-half seconds with a 45.97.

One of this week’s closest races was one by freshman Balint Marosi. Marosi won the 100 Backstroke in a tightly contested affair with a 51.30, 16 hundreds of a second ahead of the second-place finisher from Monmouth.

The final individual race winner of the day was Ben Endersby in the 100 Breaststroke. Endersby lead the entire race, touching the wall with a time of 58.34.

The Pirates secured the victory ahead of the final relay, but they did not stop there. The Pirates also claimed victory in the 200 Freestyle Relay to close the meet. The Team of Toma AdamBryant LaCroixChris Jackson and Jaden Bunt finished in first with a 1:25.28.
