D’Artagnan Dias contributed to this report.

Rafaela Raurich broke a Brazilian age record for 15-year-olds, going 2:00.26 at the South Brazilian Youth Championships.

Raurich’s time just snuck under her 2:00.36 from the Maria Lenk Trophy in April. The Maria Lenk meet is Brazil’s senior national championship event.

The 15-year-old now sits #7 on the all-time Brazilian top 10 list for all ages. She sits 6th among Brazilians this season, and though she won’t be a part of the Olympic roster for the Olympic Games her nation will host this summer, she’s on track to become a key member of the nation’s 4×200 free relay down the road.

The top 4 Brazilians this season are Larissa Oliveira (1:57.37), Manuella Lyrio (1:58.43), Jessica Cavalheiro (1:59.05) and Gabrielle Roncatto (1:59.22).
