RACE VIDEO: Watch Todd Owen Hold Off Charging Reece Whitley in 200 Breast Final at JR Nats

Todd Owen from the Cardinal Aquatics in Louisville, Kentucky showed in the men’s 200 breaststroke final that it’s not just their collegiate program that is turning out great 200 breaststrokers. Owen will begin his freshman year with the Louisville varsity squad in the fall, but is also a Louisville native. He won the 200 meter breaststroke in 2:16.25 on Saturday at the 2014 U.S. Junior Nationals in Irvine, California, while holding off hard-finishing swims from Matthew Anderson (2:16.71) and Reece Whitley (2:16.81).

Daniel Chang won the B-Final in 2:18.71, and Derek Kao won the C-Final in 2:19.32.
