PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women’s swimming & diving team had earned a 180-110 victory over La Salle on Senior Day, Saturday at DeNunzio Pool.

Prior to the meet, a ceremony was held to honor the Tigers’ Class of 2023; Nikki Venema and Amelia Liu.

The meet opened with a victory in the 200 medley relay; Sabrina Johnston, Venema, Heidi Smithwick and Ela Noble finished in 1:44.73. Ellie Marquardt followed with a win in the 1,000 freestyle, touching the wall at 10:27.02, and Smithwick earned her second triumph of the day in the 200 freestyle where she clocked in at 1:52.74.

Johnston made it four wins from four events in the 100 backstroke, where she finished with a time of 56.21.

In the 200 butterfly, Alexa Pappas finished second in 2:07.60 and Isabella Korbly would earn a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle in 23.97.

Charlotte Martinkus continued her strong freshman campaign, earning the win on the 1-meter board with a score of 277.43.

Noble would finish second in the 100 freestyle, posting a time of 52.86.

Margaux McDonald;s time of 2:02.84 in the 200 backstroke saw her secure a first-place finish, while Smithwick finished second in the 100 breaststroke in 2:23.48.

Venema’s second win of the day came in the 500 freestyle, where she touched the wall at 5:00.17, while Liu earned the Senior Day victory in the 100 butterfly after clocking in at 55.37.

The Tigers would earn a sweep of the diving events after Francesca Noviello prevailed on the 3-meter board, posting a score of 299.93.

Liu’s second victory of the day came in the 200 IM, where she clocked in at 2:06.06. The meet wrapped up with a Princeton win in the 200 freestyle relay as the Noble, Smithwick, Johnston and Venema finished with a time of 1:34.90.

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men’s swimming & diving team had a successful Senior Day Saturday at DeNunzio Pool, toppling La Salle 231-65 and winning 15 out of 16 events.

During the meet’s first break, a ceremony was held honoring the Tigers’ Class of 2023; Chris Aubin, Joshua Brown, Matthew Chao, Miguel Jacome, Raunak Khosla, Cameron Matthews, Jonathan Pollock, Dylan Porges and Max Walther.

Princeton opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay with Khosla, Lucas Strøbek, Conor McKenna and Pollock finishing in 1:30.45. Porges followed with a victory in the 1,000 freestyle, touching the wall at 9:19.74. Khosla would then win his first individual event of the day, the 200 freestyle, in 1:38.62.

Brett Feyerick made it from wins from four events, clocking in at 50.78 in the 100 backstroke to earn the win. James Pan then touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.34. The 200 butterfly was up next and Mitch Schott made it 6-for-6 wins for Princeton, clocking in at 1:50.19.

Joe Victor’s score of 308.18 on the 1-meter board secured the win for Princeton, as did Walther’s time of 45.05 in the 100 freestyle.

Khosla’s third total win and second individual win came in the 200 backstroke, where he posted a time of 1:52.15. Hunter Kim’s time of 2:04.71 in the 200 breaststroke also saw him earn the victory.

Peyton Werner added another triumph for the Tigers in the 500 freestyle, after he touched the wall at 4:34.06. Tyler Hong would come out on top in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 48.85.

On the 3-meter board Victor would earn his second victory of the day, after he earned a score of 315.08, while Kim would add a second win for himself in the 200 IM where he finished in 1:51.25.

The meet wrapped up with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay; the senior quartet of Pollock, Khosla, Walther and Brown finished in 1:22.16.

PRINCETON, N.J. – Both the men and women’s swim and dive teams dropped the opening meet of the new year to Princeton University. The women lost 180-110 and the men 231-65.

The men are now 3-4 overall this season and the women go to 3-3-1.

How the Swimmers Finished –

• Carlota Ungo got another win this season for the Explorers in the women’s 100-yard breaststroke.
• Gabriela Herbreder continued her strong season with a win in the women’s 200-yard butterfly.
• Emma van Selm and Felix Jedbratt each got first in their respective 50-yard freestyle events.
• Tori Fenn got the top spot in the women’s 100-yard freestyle.
• Ungo took her second first-place finish of the meet in the women’s 200-yard breaststroke.

How the Divers Finished –

• Phoebe Shaya earned fourth place in both the one- and three-meter dives against Princeton.

• Both the men and women will travel to A-10 member, Fordham, on Saturday, January 21^st at 11 a.m.
