Power 5 Conference All-Time Team Titles

Conference championships season is here. See below for the number of Power 5 team titles each team has won within each conference.

The Texas men have been the most dominant team in any conference, as the team has gone 25 for 25 conference wins. Texas moves to the SEC in 2025 so that will shake things up eventually. The Texas women have also been dominant within the Big-12 winning 19 conference titles.

Florida, Michigan, and Stanford have all dominated their respective conferences on both the men’s and women’s side. This is different than the ACC which has had NC State dominate the men’s side and Virginia dominate the women’s.

The ACC has the most interesting championship history as from 1954-1961, the champion was determined by regular-season records. Making it even more complex from 1962 to 1964, the champion was determined by a mix of the regular-season finish and final standings in the championship meet.

Not all teams have been in the conference as long as others, and some teams have moved up from Mid-Major conferences to the Power 5 such as Louisville and Notre Dame. See our Mid-Major all-time conference titles here

Georgia Tech was in the SEC until 1964. They won SEC titles in 1942, 1948, 1949, and 1950. Those were actually all consecutive meets, because the 1943-1947 championships were canceled by WW2.

All of those titles came before the ACC was founded in 1953.
