MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team swept the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference weekly awards this week as freshman swimmer Emma Purdy was named the PCSC Swimmer of the Week on Monday afternoon, while freshman diver Lexie Martin was named Diver of the Week.
Purdy (Truckee, Calif./Truckee HS) secured the lone individual win in a dual meet with Cal State East Bay, where she finished first in the 50 free (25.15). The freshman followed her top finish the next day at UC Davis with second-place finishes in the 50 free (24.80) and 100 free (53.89), both season bests for her. Purdy was also part of the team’s fastest fly split for the season in the 200-medley relay (25.64). This is Purdy’s first weekly honor and is one of two for Pepperdine this season.
Martin (Keller, Texas/Keller HS) was the top performer amongst the Waves’ diving squad in the meet against UC Davis. The freshman scored 215.8 points in the 3-meter event, placing her fourth in the event overall. This is Martin’s first weekly honor and is one of two for Pepperdine this season.
The Waves will be back in action November 6 with a dual meet at LMU. Start time is 11:00 a.m.
