Ozaukee’s Rachel Hauer Verbally Commits to Southern Illinois Salukis

Grafton, Wisconsin’s Rachel Hauer has made a verbal commitment to swim for Southern Illinois University beginning in the 2015-16 season.

Hauer swims for Ozaukee Aquatics and Grafton High School. She placed 11th in the 200 IM and seventh in the 100 breast at the 2013 WIAA Girls Division 2 State Meet. Her top SCY times over the last two seasons are:

50y breast: 31.26
100y breast: 1:05.83
200y breast: 2:26.53
50y free: 25.66
100y free: 55.59
200y IM: 2:14.23
400y IM: 4:47.50

Hauer should be a nice addition to the Salukis. Her 100 breast and 400 IM would have made B-finals at the 2014 Missouri Valley Conference Championships, while her 200 breast and 200 IM would have made C-finals. Southern Illinois finished third in the conference and will be looking to improve on that performance with Hauer.
